May your life be filled with little blessings, little chuckles,
and little deeds of kindness (both given and received)!

A little wild rose in the dark woods…

May you see the beauty in every wild rose.
If you are the little wild rose — in the deep dark woods –
remember that God created you
and that you are beautiful in His sight!

Wordless Prayers

Posted by Little Things of Life on September 22, 2011

This is my Wordless Wednesday post…on Thursday!
LOL

For several years, our weekly Bible Study group has met in the home of my friend Lucy.
This beautiful stained-glass candle holder sits on her coffee table.
I had planned to share this picture yesterday — without any words.

However, since it’s no longer “Wordless Wednesday,”
I decided to give this post a slightly different title.

I imagine many of you may be like me;
sometimes, no matter how hard you try,
you just don’t know how to pray for a certain situation or need in your life –
or in the life of someone else close to you.

It’s comforting to know that when Christians have those “wordless prayer days,”
God’s Spirit inside of us takes over and prays for us,
in line with what is God’s will in our situation.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.
For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for.
But the Holy Spirit prays for us
with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying,
for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

Romans 8:26-27

Thank y’all for stopping by to visit Little Things.

If there are times when you have needs in your life
and don’t know how to pray –
or just feel too ill, too weak, or too overwhelmed to put your prayers into words –
I hope you can recall the above verses and draw strength from what they say to us.

May your life be filled with little blessings, little chuckles,
and little deeds of kindness (both given and received)!
See y’all tomorrow — for the first day of Fall!!!
:)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Entrance

Posted by Little Things of Life on August 19, 2011

This stained-glass window is in the church where I worshiped when I was growing up.
My grandparents and parents and siblings and I sat on the pew by this window,
unless someone else happened to sit there first(!)
It wasn’t really “our pew,” but by habit this is where we usually sat.

The photo holds nostalgic memories of times gone by with my family…
and is also significant because of what it represents in my life.
