When I went grocery-shopping the other day,
these orchids placed close to the store’s front door practically jumped out to greet me!
Their vibrant electric blue color was so unusual that I could not pass by without taking a closer look.
I took a few pictures with my camera phone.
They’re not as clear as I’d like, but I want to share them anyway.

Meet the “Blue Mystique,” the world’s first blue Phalaenopsis orchid!

The Blue Mystique is not painted, and it’s not hybridized.
It is the result of a patented process that infuses white orchids with a special medium.

This technique has been perfected after many years of research and testing,
using naturally derived elements and remaining environmentally conscious.

Following the treatment of a plant,
the buds on the current stem will open to flowers in a lighter shade of blue.
I’m guessing this may be the case with the lighter blue flower below.
When new stems form, their flowers will probably be white.
