Tulip Greetings

This is one of my favorite recent edits.
Since some of you use these “Little Inspirations” photos for emails and printed cards,
I added a few different greetings to this one.

Wordless Prayers

This is my Wordless Wednesday post…on Thursday!
LOL

For several years, our weekly Bible Study group has met in the home of my friend Lucy.
This beautiful stained-glass candle holder sits on her coffee table.
I had planned to share this picture yesterday — without any words.

However, since it’s no longer “Wordless Wednesday,”
I decided to give this post a slightly different title.

I imagine many of you may be like me;
sometimes, no matter how hard you try,
you just don’t know how to pray for a certain situation or need in your life –
or in the life of someone else close to you.

It’s comforting to know that when Christians have those “wordless prayer days,”
God’s Spirit inside of us takes over and prays for us,
in line with what is God’s will in our situation.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.
For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for.
But the Holy Spirit prays for us
with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying,
for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
Romans 8:26-27

Safe Harbor from the Storm

I’d like to leave you with a quote from “In a Storm” by Mary Southerland:

When the fierce storms of life overwhelm us,
there is only one thing to do if we want to survive those storms.
We must position ourselves in the right place – in the hands of God –
and He will keep us there until the storm has passed.
The words of the psalmist are filled with confidence and hope when he writes,

“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed”
(Psalm 107:29).

We really can trust God to bring peace and to reduce the fiercest storm to a mere whisper.
The faithful provision and sustaining comfort of God at work in our life
depends on the character and heart of God
and our willingness to trust Him.

Inner Light

Sometimes our light goes out
but is blown again into flame
by an encounter with another human being.

A (((HUG))) !

We all need hugs — and often the most ‘unhuggable’ people actually need them the most! 

We never know the loneliness someone may feel inside,
regardless of how happy and “together” they may appear on their exterior. 

We never know how much they may need our hugs;
a hug and just a human touch can sometimes be a life-changing experience
for someone who is lonely and at the end of their rope. 

No matter how much we want to reach across the miles and hug someone far away,
we can’t do it in person –
but we CAN call them, email them, or send them a text-message
to let them know they are in our thoughts. 

On this cold winter evening, can you think of someone who needs your hug?  
…And will you take the time to reach out and give ‘em one of yours? 

Your thoughtfulness and encouragement might mean the world to them
– and even if they’re a thousand miles away from you – 
when you reach out to them, I’ll bet you feel a hug coming right back from them to you!
