The Rest of the Story…

…continued from Good Friday’s “DARKEST DAY” post…

Today is EASTER SUNDAY!
EASTER JOY!
THE GREATEST DAY!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

Suddenly there was a great earthquake!
For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven,
rolled aside the stone, and sat on it…

…Then the angel spoke to the women.
“Don’t be afraid!” he said.
“I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He isn’t here!
He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen.
Come, see where his body was lying.

“And now, go quickly and tell his disciples
that he has risen from the dead,
and he is going ahead of you to Galilee.
You will see him there.
Remember what I have told you.”
(Matthew 1,2, 5-7 NLT)

From Darkness into Light

Posted by Little Things of Life on January 25, 2010

I have been following the Facebook page of “Praying for the Rescue of Ken Bourland.” Ken is a 37-year-old husband — father of three sons — a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, having served a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004. He arrived in Haiti on the day of the earthquake, as part of an Air Force team sent to help prepare countries for assistance — how ironic that he arrived in that country on that day – and on that particular mission! He is believed to have been trapped in the collapse of the Hotel Montana.

Psalm 18:28 is the scripture that his wife Peggy says has been on her heart this morning. If she can claim it and hold onto it in her time of such desperate need, how much more should I be able to claim it for myself and believe in God’s power to take away my darkness and surround me with the light of His love. I hope you can claim it for yourself and for your loved ones, also.

Will you please join me in praying for the Bourland family in particular, as we continue to pray for all victims of the earthquake and all who are responding to this unbelievably great need.
