I really appreciate my friend Marie sharing this little story with me. 
God used it to speak to my heart and remind me that He is often working in our lives in ways that we do not understand — and that we just have to trust Him when things don’t seem to be going as well as we wish they would!
Most of us have prayers that we have prayed to God for a long time – and we are still waiting on His answers. He tells us in His Word that we should be persistent in asking Him for things in line with His will:
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.
Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
(Ephesians 6:18)
As He is working out particular situations in our lives, they often don’t seem to be working out the way we have asked Him. We need to remember that His ways are greater than our ways. (Isaiah 55:8-9) One of these days, either later in life on this earth – or maybe not until we’ve gotten to heaven – we will see that His answers were blessings in disguise – and were the PERFECT answers to our prayers…
…and sometimes we will look back on situations that seemed disastrous to us at the time and see that God was working for our good, in ways that we could not even have imagined!
