The green covering on the water is not algae.
It is actually a mass of tiny moss-like plants known as Azolla, or “duckweed.”
They float on the surface of the bayou and form compact mats,
with their roots hanging down into the water beneath.
Do you see the dog?
We watched this dog swim all the way across the bayou,
following some ducks who were paddling to the other side
Across street from Court House
Look at all those knees!!!
Close-up of the knees
Wonder how old this cypress tree is???
