The heavens are telling the glory of God;

they are a marvelous display of His craftsmanship.

Do you understand the balancing of the clouds with wonderful perfection and skill?

Do you know why you become warm when the south wind is blowing and everything is still?

Can you spread out the gigantic mirror of the skies as he does?

(Job 37:16-18 — TLB) 

 

 

 

These next few pictures were taken in September 2008 on a flight over the Gulf Coast area

a few days after Hurricane Ike made landfall. 

Just a short distance to the east, Hurricane Gustav had arrived only a week earlier. 

Above the clouds, the view from the plane was beautiful…

but I knew that below me there was great devastation – 

and a lot of people whose lives had been turned upside down.    

The view of the heavens, though,  reminded me that God was still in control!

 

 

 

…We cannot comprehend the greatness of His power.

For He directs the snow, the showers, and storm to fall upon the earth.

(Job 37:5-6 — TLB) 

 

 

 

 

Man’s work stops at such a time,

so that all men everywhere may recognize His power.

(Job 37:7 — TLB)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whether there are actual storms on our TV radar…

or whether other kinds of storms are causing turbulence in our lives…

we need to remember that above the darkness of the ominous clouds

THE SKY IS ALWAYS BLUE!!!

  

Our God is…

unchanging — never failing — always in control — constant, faithful, and true.

 

It’s all a matter of perspective:

 Which is greater — the threat and our weaknesses — or our God?

 

THE SKY IS ALWAYS BLUE!!
